Jesse and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary this week. We stayed home and cooked dinner instead of going out. Before dinner we each painted a poster which will become placemats for our table. It was a bit messy, but I think they turned out really fun.
Brooke was a bit unhappy that I took the paints away from her after she had spilled them all over the table and smeared them all over her body!

Freckle Face
I am currently obsessed with Brynn's adorable freckles! I just think there is something so super cute about them!
Ainsley's Kite Day
Ainsley's kite day was the next day. It was substantially colder and the wind was a bit too much... but for some reason Brynn had a much better experience (I got her a different kite!).
Check out Ainsley's awesome new knee-highs (yes, we know they don't match!).

Brynn's Kite Day
The girls' school has "Kite Day" each year. I decided that I was totally over the cheap plastic kites, so I went and bought new fancy ones. It turned out that Brynn's was a stunt kite and we couldn't figure out how to get it to fly! She was quite disappointed and didn't want to participate after that. She wanted nothing to do with the crazy looking girl kite!

Our Famous Girl!
Ainsley was one of the models that Church of the Resurrection used for their Easter service video and bulletin for their upcoming sermon series. She was very excited when her picture was in our bulletin and when she saw herself on the "huge tv screen"! She has also been the featured picture on their website this week.

"Beau-ful"
Brooke's new phrase is to say that people are "beau-ful". It is very sweet. She will say, "Mommy beau-ful. Daddy beau-ful. Brookie beau-ful." I need to get it on video because soon she will pronounce it correctly and it won't be nearly as cute!
She found Ainsley's lipgloss and came out of her bedroom very proud of how "beau-ful" she was!
And her older cousin painted her fingernails "beau-ful!"
And she is "beau-ful" in mommy's sunglasses!

Coloring Easter Eggs
We spent part of the Easter weekend at the cabin. Each year we spent the Saturday before Easter with Jesse's extended family. All of the cousins get together and color eggs. Here are a few pictures from the fun.
Easter Party
I am part of an awesome mom's group at our old church. I have been involved with it for the last three years. The women in the group were amazing while I was on bedrest with Brooke. They provided close to 30 meals for our family. There were women that I had never met showing up with meals for us. It was such a blessing.
We had a fun Easter party with some of the kids from the group. The girls had a lot of fun!

In The Dirt...
Daddy is trying to grow grass where we used to have a swingset... I'm not sure it is going to work with all the help he is getting!

A Brief Health Update on Brooke...
Brooke has had some appointments with her doctors and her specialists over the last few weeks. We have her appointment with dermatology next Wednesday.
At her 2 year well child visit, the pediatrician was super happy with her progress! She said "Brooke is caught up" which brought tears to my eyes. The 2 year mark is a huge milestone for preemies. By 2 years old, most developmental issues are known. Often times these kiddos catch up with their peers on developmental stages.
They even said that she is ahead of her actual age in language development and gross motor skills. I laughed when they told me that. Obviously she is... she has 2 sisters to keep up with!
The liver specialist is very pleased with her progress. Her ultrasound showed "no current hemangiomas" on her liver which is a true miracle since her liver was covered in them. The original diagnosis was explianed to us this way: Her liver is about the size of an Oreo cookie and it currently looks like the moon with all of the hemangiomas covering it.
So, this news was just a true miracle! Her liver enzyme labs also came back the "best they have ever been" which is another answer to prayer!
I will update after her dermatology appointment this week; however, I am expecting more good news!
She is such an amazing miracle.

Darn Monkey Bars!
Brynn had a little fall! We spent some time at the hospital getting x-rays and she left with this super cute walking shoe!
And now Brooke keeps limping around the house saying "me broken too".

"My Panties!"
We celebrated Brooke's attempt at potty training by getting her big girl panties which she calls "My Panties!" She is very excited about both her new panties and her sticker chart. Each of the girls had a sticker chart in the bathroom where they earn a sticker when they use the potty. Although I know we are very early in this process, it is kind of exciting to think that we are just months away from having no diapers!!! What a strange thought!
Some Outside Pictures.
Ainsley has discovered "Mermaid Hair" (wavy hair). This means that we must have a bath/shower every night, french braid 3 seperate braids in her hair, let them dry overnight and then take the braids out in the morning. All of these steps equal "Perfect Mermaid Hair"!
