Brooke got to go get her American Girl baby doll this past week. When we asked her what her name was, she said "Baby". That seemed like a good enough name!
Her grandmother bought her the set to go with the new baby which made Brooke very happy.

Brooke's 2nd Birthday Party!
We had a very fun Minnie Mouse birthday party. She had family and a few friends come over to help her celebrate. We even had a real Minnie come to visit!

"The Mother of All Messes"
The girls have been watching The Cat in the Hat on PBS before school. They often talk about "The Mother of All Messes". I am quite tolerant of messes. Most things really don't bother me.
Like this...
Or this...
However, I must admit that this mess actually really annoyed me. The picture does it no justice... there are close to a trillion tiny pieces of sand all over the table, chairs and floor:

Brooke's Actual 2nd Birthday
Brooke's 2nd birthday was last Tuesday, March 29th. The big girls were at school, so Brooke and cousin Brecken and I had a fun birthday date. We went to Oak Park Mall because I needed stuff from the Disney Store. Brooke got to make a bear at Build-A-Bear.
Then we rode the merry-go-round.
And had lunch.
That night we had some of our best buddies over for cake.
But she wanted NO part of opening her gifts...
So the other kids opened them for her...

Brooke's 1 Year Video.
Yes, I am well aware that Brooke just turned 2...
But I am just now getting around to posting her 1 year video.
I cried all over again watching it.
Either cut and paste this link or go to the "Some Links" tab on the left and click on "Girls' Website" and go to videos. (I can't get the link option to work... someone help me!)

The Next All Star!
Ainsley started her basketball career this weekend! She is playing on a team with the kids from her class. They had one rather comical practice and then we were told that they had their first game the following Saturday! We were not sure how it would go, but the game was actually quite impressive. They stopped the game often for "teachable moments" which I was very happy about.
Ainsley did a great job running back and forth and handling the ball.
She also spent quite a bit of time chewing on her piggy-tail, so I will need to french braid her hair next time!
And her idea of "guarding" a boy seems to involve quite a bit of flirting...
And she also spent a decent amount of time watching the game clock and anticipating the buzzer... and covering her ears.
But overall she was a great team player!
