Vacation at Hilton Head Island

We just got home from a week in Hilton Head, SC. It was a wonderful break from the crazy reality we have been living. We stayed at a very nice resort that overlooked the water, had a great pool and even had an alligator that lived in the lagoon outside our room. We spent time at the beach which the girls loved. Ainsley learned how to "surf", Brynn loved making sand castles and exploring the beach and Brooke enjoyed walking out to the water and letting the waves splash on her legs. As a mom, it was so enjoyable to just watch them experience new things. I love looking in their eyes as they learn and enjoy brand new experiences.

Name calling... or not???

Yesterday, Ainsley was put in time-out for a very long time for calling her sister what sounded a lot like "You are an idiot." This was the first time that she has used that word... or even called her sister a name. At first, I had to hide the fact that I was kind of laughing. It seemed funny to me for some reason. However, I did tear up a little bit realizing that we were entering into this next phase of sibling relationships.
Jesse and I both talked to Ainsley about how it is not acceptable to call people names and we will not put up with it in our house.
A few hours later, I heard Ainsley calling Brynn the same word again. I was on my way into her bedroom to put her back in time-out when I heard her say it again. I listened closer and it sounded more like "illiod". So, I asked her what she was talking about. She said that Brynn was an "illiod" because she was not doing what her mom and dad asked her to do.
As it turns out, she did not in fact call Brynn a mean name. She called her "someone who does not obey"! Who would have thought!?!?!

March of Dimes

We had the amazing opportunity to walk in the March of Dimes/March for Babies walk for the 4th time. Our team has tripled in size since we began walking 4 years ago. Our team goal was to raise $1,000 and we hit $2,000!!! It was an emotional experience for me to walk that route with all 3 of my girls. Last year Brooke was still in the NICU during the walk. We went and walked and then went to visit her in the hospital. It was so much better having her there with us! Here are some pictures from the walk. Please consider walking with us next year. It is so much fun and the money goes to a great cause.

My Three Girls!

2 Year Old Fit

We have been blessed with pretty decent 2 year olds... Brynn will be 3 next month and the 2's were really quite enjoyable. Ainsley was a good 2 as well. The biggest issues were related to independence. Brynn wants to do everything "BY MYSELF!" and becomes quite upset when we try to help. In this picture, she is throwing a fit at the park because she wanted to be in the stroller "BY MYSELF!"
